In business, there is a growing trend towards adoption of the BYOD (bring your own device) model. In fact, it is estimated that by 2015, more than half (55 percent) of smartphones used for business purposes will be owned by employees. Plus, 57 percent of tablet owners say that they will use their tablet at work and at home for personal activity as well.
This poses an interesting challenge of iPhone and Android device management for IT managers. Why, nearly half (47 percent) of companies that follow a bring your own device model have had a security breach because of it. Adopting a strong iPhone and Android security model when dealing with iPhone and Android device management is crucial for this model.
Thankfully, cloud technology has made the lives of IT managers everywhere easier. The tools gained from Android in the enterprise allows security features to constantly improve. Plus, Android device management provided over the cloud is a scalable, secure and convenient approach to a bring your own device model.
Android management is indeed a challenge for IT managers of a BYOD model, but every day software developers and engineers mitigate the problems and challenges posed to Android device management.
